Emperor Tiberius, who reigned 14-37 AD, succeeded to stabilise the Empire and improve the fi nances. He ended the conquest attempts of the Germanic territory and reinforced borders. He consolidated his political power by systematically eliminating his rivals. During his regency, around the year 30, Jesus Christ was beaten to the cross."
